Last week we went to Åland (Alandia) for a few days. Åland consists of a few large and many small islands at the entrance to the Gulf of Bothnia. It is an autonomous, Swedish-speaking region of Finland. And it is very beautiful.

In Åland we visited the museum ship Pommern. Pommern, a 4 masted barque made of steel, was built in 1903 and used as a cargoship until 1947. I took a few pictures there that I'm quite happy about. It's embarrasing, but I have no idea what the object depicted is called. I missed the class on sailor lingo, arrrgh...
