A cannon at the Fortress of Bomarsund on Åland.
The fortress was built by the russians, starting in 1832. It was destroyed by the United Kingdom and France in 1854 during the Crimean war. Åland was then offered to Sweden, who didn't dare to accept it since Russia still claimed the area. So, after a while, the russians came back to regain control over Åland.
Quite pointless. Even for a war.
