Today we visited the Museu Carlos Machado. It's housed in an old monestary and is mostly focused on local azoeran history. But in the attic, we found an old natural history collection, with thousands of stuffed birds, fish and mammals. It's really freaky to walk around amongst the two-headed calfs, the many different kinds of owls and hummingbirds and so on. The collection of butterflies and insects seemed to never end.
