This morning I was listening to the morning news on the radio. There was a report about swedish TV-channel "Kanal 5" airing the very last episode of the NBC sitcom Friends tonight. Not a big event in my life - I never followed the series closely even though I found it quite entertaining from time to time.
The reporter was interviewing two young hardcore Friends-fans. It turned out that one of them was one of my friends. She and her boyfriend claimed to have watched at least one episode of Friends every day for many years now, and now the couple was having their 15 minutes appearing on the radio news, in the newspaper, and even on TV speaking about their obsession. I had no idea! You never seem to know your friends :-)
